Heroforge minis for PbN

One of my other obsessions in life is Dungeons and Dragons. One of my favorite websites related thereto is heroforge.com. Heroforge offers 3D printed custom miniatures for roleplaying games. Most of the features are geared towards fantasy minis, but there are enough options to put together a series of minis that fit the major characters of PbN.

So here's what I've come up with.

Sarah Cobbler

Rebecca Phillips

Paul Miller

Kathleen

David Hemmingway

Alex "Agent A" McCoid

Solomon Wolfe

Boar Boorman

Mitch Mitchell

Damian Drake

And our anti-hero, Michael Alles

Philly by Night Portrait Project - Part Five

At this point, with the end of Act Two, we've nearly wrapped up all our major characters (and nearly all the minor characters too. Check out the updates here and here).

Audrah Leonard

Rebecca's butch lover and thrall, Michael uses her to track Rebecca down at Studio Gothic.

Angela Borgia

The first of Monroe's thrall family that Michael encounters, Angela is a long way from what she appears. I really like this portrait. It gives an image of someone who's a little sexually ambiguous, which is what you want for a transsexual individual.

Antino Borgia

Dirty old man whose perverse appetites not only introduce Michael to the depravity of Monroe's mindset and environs, but also get him killed.

Bernardo Sangiovanni

I wanted to use a stereotype here, your generic greasy Italian mobster. That captures nicely the immensely rich and powerful head of the Sangiovanni faction of Philadelphia.

Gaudino Borgia

For the most active member of Monroe's thrall family (he shows up in Act One alongside Dylan in one of the Philadelphia "cut scenes"), I wanted a particular image in mind. Hauntingly handsome, but not quite right. The blue eyes really drive that paradox home with this portrait.

Ludovica Borgia

Probably the less said here, the better. Ludovica is, of course, the young girl that fully demonstrates how depraved and debauched Monroe and his people are (even more so than her parents, who are the siblings Gaudino and Savina).

Savina Borgia

Gaudino's sister and lover. It's probably obvious that I channeled a bit of Game of Thrones in creating these characters with the whole incest thing.

Angelus Stirling

I wasn't originally going to create this character or really use him in PbN1999 (He has a larger role in PbN2012). But when it came time to introduce the Malleus Malificarum, he was my go-to guy, using Obfuscate to confuse and convince the Malleus leadership that he's the archangel Michael (the pun of his first name is not unintentional).

He's a Sims 4 portrait obviously, but I was really trying for a particular look. Someone aged and hawkish. A bit like the first Doctor Who. I didn't quite get it, but I still like what I came up with.

(Mild spoiler for the future: This guy is a seriously sick fuck too).

Sims 4 Portraits - The Main Characters

It was only a matter of time before I stopped doing minor and one-shot characters in my Sims 4 experiments. Here's the big guys.

Michael Allens

James "Mitch" Mitchell

Mike "Boar" Boorman

Rebecca Philips
Sarah Cobbler

Solomon Wolfe

Philly by Night Portrait Project Part Four

Feels weird calling this part four, given the three "mystery" portrait galleries that have also gone up to show up my Sims 4 creations. Regardless, this is the fourth scheduled Portrait post that was meant to go up after the big "romance" chapter in Act Two. I've made two additions, new characters that I did up in Sims 4. The rest of these are older portraits done in Sims 2.

Cortez Molina
Alpha of the North Fairmount werewolf pack, Cortez is impressed by Boar's prowess and fearlessness.

Lynne Hawkins
The leader of the "true believers" in the Villanova Wicca coven. Victim of Emmanuel Noble and now soon-to-be thrall of Sarah Cobbler.

Thaddeus Zao
The Hierarch of the Consilium mages, Thaddeus hasn't actually made his debut just yet, but plenty of people have been talking about him.

Regulus Noble
The brother to the sinister Emmanuel and the Hierarch of the Dark Brotherhood.

Didi Myers
Another VTES card come to life, Didi is the childe of Elias Walsh and not nearly so smooth and seductive as she believes herself to be.

Caine Morganti
A mysterious Nosferatu and ally of Didi. What role will he play in the story? Well, you'll just have to wait and see.

Portrait Project - More and better Mystery Sims

Ok, I'll admit it. I'm going pretty nuts over the Sims 4 demo Create-a-Sim. Many of these pics I've put together are of very minor characters who show up in one scene or one chapter and then vanish from the plot. However, these three are somewhere in the middle. They're a far cry from "Major Characters" like Michael, Sarah, and Thomas Monroe, but they do make a pretty major impact on the story.

FYI: This is going to sound dumb, but I finally figured out how to properly zoom in the Sims 4 demo program. I've revamped the other Mystery Sims threads (here and here) with pictures the quality of these below.

Update (10/3/14): With the arrival of Act Two Chapter Seven, nearly all of these got their debut.

Mystery Wizard Man #1
Mystery solved: Reginald Skelmsdale

I borrowed the name from a radio play I did a few years ago for community theatre. It seemed a good fit for this very British college professor/Obrimos mage.

Mystery Wizard Woman #1
Mystery solved: Anna Tate (formerly Alice)

The first of my two major homage characters to Lev Grossman's The Magician's trilogy. Anna is, of course, based (very loosely admittedly) on Alice from the first book of that series. In my story, she's a novice Thyrsus mage.

Mystery Wizard Man #2
Mystery solved: Martin Lovejoy (formerly Quentin)

The second Magician trilogy homage character, Martin is based (again loosely) on that series protagonist.

Mystery Wizard Woman #2

Portrait Project - Philly by Night Part Three

We've posted Chapters 2 and 3 of Philly by Night at this point, which pretty much sets most of the stage for the whole story. That means it's "kosher" to post a whole slew of Sims 2 character portraits (and one Sims 3) in addition to the pair of Mystery Sims that just went up.

Dylan Greene
The wayward childe of Solomon Wolfe has been the primary instrument of getting Michael and company to Philadelphia.

Paul Miller
Dylan's childe and Solomon's grandchilde may be a complete novice at this point, but he's aiming to become one of Michael's most potent allies.

Kathleen
"Hey, we've seen her before."

Yes, you have. One of the mystery portraits I unveiled way back in May has her identity revealed at last.

Prince Elias Walsh
Michael describes him as his "dark mirror," having all the same boy-band youthful good looks that he does, only dark and swarthy instead of fair and blonde like Michael.

Alexandros
The city Sheriff and Dylan's rival/partner in crime.

Dr. John Murphy
It's not obvious from the story text, but this is the debut of the very first Philly-by-Night 2012 campaign character. Dr. John is one of the PCs in the campaign, the night medical examiner for the city and unwilling mentor to Kathleen.

Tiberius the Scandalmonger
Another VTES/Jyhad character that I appropriated. His rather brief appearance in Act One did give me the excuse to tool around with the Sims 2 character creation tools to try to create a traditional Nosferatu. Damn he's ugly and it's glorious. (Sadly, he's also quite dead.)

Erik Bellerose
The very last of my Sims 3 portraits from way back (I'm not entirely sure this is my own creation. It might be a steal from a Sims download site). Erik was originally a PC in the Virginia Beach VTM campaign from college, a Daughter of Cacophony based on (if it wasn't obvious) the Phantom of the Opera. I've ported him into Philly-by-Night as the leader of the Ordo Dracul in the city.

Thomas Monroe
The third and final "Great Elder" to make his debut. Thomas is a long way from what he appears, although his cardinal robes and ecclesial manner are big clues to his mortal identity (Hint! Hint!)

Oh, and by the way, if all this wasn't enough, two of the first batch of mystery sims also got revealed.

More Mystery Sims (Sort of)

Having way too much fun with the Sims 4 Create-a-Sim demo. Enough that I REALLY want to buy the game, but I'm not in the financial position to do so at the moment.

Anyway, that's not important. More character portraits is. I was thinking was another "mystery post" like last time, except that one of these minor characters just got her one-and-only (presumably) appearance last chapter.

Update (11/10/14): Evangeline revealed after Act Two Chapter Nine

Mystery Woman
Mystery solved: Evangeline

This is the bottle-dyed redheaded cheerleader that meets her untimely end at the hands of our overenthusiastic heroes.

Margie Lloyd
Margie is Michael's conquest/snack from the beginning of Act Two Chapter Two, a personal trainer he spies in a local (as in South Philly) gym. As you can probably guess, he's rather drawn to the blue dyed hair and tattoos.

Portrait Project - Mystery Characters (Sims 4)

If you've been following the portrait project posts I've put up, you've seen me transition from Sims 3 back to Sims 2 due to real-life moving complications. Sims 4 was just released and like its predecessors has a full range of character creation options.

I haven't bought the full game yet, but the character generator is available as a demo. So I pulled it down a week or so ago and started playing around with it. MOST of the major characters in PbN have already been created in Sims 2 and are just waiting around for me to progress the story far enough to introduce them. However, there were a few minor characters (and a major character or two) that I hadn't gotten to yet.

I wanted to show off what I've been doing in Sims 4 so far, but I have the same problem with all my unpublished Sims 2 pics: these characters haven't debuted yet. Oh, well. Not an insurmountable problem.

Here's what I'll do. I'll post the pics in this blog entry and when they get introduced in the story, I'll come back and edit this post with the full character info. Deal?

Update (9/20/14): Two of these characters made their debut in Act Two Chapter Three.

Update (9/25/14): One more of these characters made his debut in Act Two Chapter Four

Update(10/2/14): One more revealed in Act Two Chapter Six

Update(10/3/14): Three more revealed in Act Two Chapter Seven (along with three of the mages in one of the follow-up Mystery portrait posts.) Big chapter.

Update (11/10/14): One more character revealed in Act Two Chapter Twelve

Mortal Girl #1
Mystery revealed: Adrienne

Adrienne is the lesbian girl Michael encounters at Studio Gothic that puts him on the trail of Audrah Leonard and Rebecca.

Mortal Girl #2
Mystery Solved: Amy Huffman

This is the blond girl Mitch intercepts out from under Michael at the Halloween party. She's the one in the mermaid costume.

Mortal Woman #1

Mortal Woman #2
Mystery Solved: Eliza

Sarah and Michael enjoy their first joint hunt in Philadelphia with this fine young lady.

Werewolf Girl
Mystery Solved: Janice Miller

The young teen werewolf Boar first encounters in the North Fairmount pack. The one determined to land her a young virile college student for mating.

Mortal Woman #3

Mortal Girl #3
Mystery Solved: Mia Rojas

The girl Michael meets at the Halloween party, the one with the "huge tracks of land" that really grab his lustful attentions (Her predicament with two overeager bullies is a big draw to his chivalry as well).

Mortal Woman #4
Mystery Solved: Natasha

The Romani kinfolk woman that Boar encounters with the North Fairmount werewolf pack. The one that makes his heart got pitter-pat.

Mortal Girl #4
Mystery solved: Trisha

Anna's roommate and potential future girlfriend of Mitch.

Wizard man
Mystery Solved: Professor Emmanuel Noble

This sick S.O.B. is the mage lord of Villanova University, a charlatan pagan, and a pedophile infernalist. Not a whole lot about him to like.
